The 2013 Central League League Rookie of the Year Award went to Yakult Swallows starter Yasuhiro Ogawa, who went 16-4 with a 2.93 ERA and 135 strikeouts, leading the Central League in wins. He got 252 of 273 votes.
The other vote-getters were Tomoyuki Sugano of the Yomiuri Giants (13 votes) and Shintaro Fujinami of the Hanshin Tigers (8 votes).
