200 Home Runs[edit]

Membership in the 200 home run club is usually the standard for a decent home run hitting career. Throughout MLB history (as of August 2015), there have been 318 members of the 200 home run club. Prior to the 1920s, 200 home runs was unheard of. The all-time home run leader was Roger Connor who hit a mere 138 home runs in his career. The charter member of the 200 home run club was Babe Ruth who reached the mark on May 12th, 1923; he went on to hit an amazing total of 714 home runs in his career. The Babe was the first American League player to hit 200 homers. Cy Williams became the charter member of the 200 home run club for the National League on September 8th, 1926.
