2000 Postseason

From BR Bullpen

Summary[edit]

2000 was the year of the "Subway Series", a match of the New York Mets and New York Yankees. A city divided in a series that featured competitive games but a rather decisive five game outcome.

The White Sox were the AL's winningest team in 2000, and they handled the Yankees with ease during the regular season, but the past does not matter in the playoffs. The Mariners made quick work of Chicago, while the Yankees took down the A's. New York beat Seattle in the ALCS to reach the World Series for the third consecutive season.

The Mets beat up on the Giants and Cardinals to reach their first World Series since 1986. The Braves failed to win a postseason series for the first time since 1993.
