1996 European Cupwinners Cup Pool B

The European Cupwinners Cup had, like the other tournaments European Cup and CEB Cup, a Pool B or qualifier competition. The winning teams' country would then be entered into the tournament proper for the next season.

The 1996 European Cupwinners Cup Pool B tournament was unique as for the first time a Dutch team participated in a Pool B Cup. (Despite the Dutch winning the main Cup last time it was held in 1994). The Dutch team who took part, Cementbouw RCH played in the Overgangsklasse, the second level in Dutch baseball.

The tournament was split into two separate groups played in two different cities. The winners of both groups would be entered into the main Cupwinners Cup next year.

Group One

Played in Ljubljana, Slovenia

4. Nagykanizsa Ants (HUN)

Group Two

Played in Heemstedt, Netherlands

1. Cementbouw RCH (NED)
2. Jimmer's de Saint-Lô (FRA)
3. Jastrezbie (POL)
4. Elmshorn Alligators (GER)
5. Botosani (ROM)

So next year's Cupwinners Cup would feature teams from Spain and the Netherlands.
