From BR Bullpen

The 1995 Italian Series was a repeat of the previous year and like last year Cariparma Parma took the championship by knocking off Caffe Danesi Nettuno once again to win their second consecutive Serie A1 scudetto.

Nettuno had the better regular season, going 45-9 to finish first, to Parma's 42-12 and second place, while Parma swept their best-of-7 semifinals compared to Nettuno's needing six games to advance. Nettuno's offense had been led in the regular season by outfielders Jessie Reid (.427/.549/.826, 69 R, 65 RBI, 51 BB in 48 G) and Francesco Casolari (.400/.506/.735, 61 R, 67 RBI, 14 HR, 21 2B in 53 G). Reid led the league in average and homers (19) while Casolari led in RBI. Mike Hinkle (6-1, 2.62) was their top starter, though Gianni Ricci (14-2, 5.82) led the league in wins. Massimiliano Masin was 11-4 with a 4.27 ERA. For Parma, the offense had come from RF/1B Roberto Bianchi (.422/.515/.797, 55 R, 65 RBI in 54 G), 2B/P Massimo Fochi (.362/.443/.628, 53 RBI in 51 G) and C Luigi Carrozza (.351/.384/.556, 60 RBI, 52 R in 50 G) while SS Davide Rigoli hit .350/.409/.487, scored 61 runs in 53 games and led the league with 33 steals. The ace pitcher was Cuban star Faustino Corrales (11-2, 1.65, 184 K, 62 H in 114 2/3 IP), who led the league in ERA and Ks. Fochi was also strong at 7-1, 2.60 with two saves.

Nettuno won the opener on September 29, 5-3, but Parma took the other four - 11-1, 3-2, 5-2 and 16-4. Carrozza (.579/.636/.737, 9 RBI), 1B Paolo Ceccaroli (.500/.500/.722, 5 R) and Rigoli (.474/.565/.474, 8 R) had supplied plenty of offense for Parma, while Fabio Betto (1-0, 1.80) and Corrales (1-1, 2.00) had contained Nettuno's mighty offense. Casolari (.250/.368/.625, 3 HR) was Nettuno's top hitter while Masin (0-1, 3.12) and Hinkle (1-1, 4.24) led the staff.
