1994 Central American Games
The 1994 Central American Games were held in San Salvador, El Salvador. Nicaragua won the Gold to avenge their loss to El Salvador four years prior. Guatemala took the Silver for the first time, El Salvador Bronze, Honduras placed 4th and Costa Rica 5th.
Nicaragua was led by Julio Osejo, who homered four times. José Luis Quiroz (Nicaragua), Estuardo Mira (Guatemala) and Carlos Martínez (El Salvador) all had a 0.00 ERA in nine innings, while Quiroz, Martínez and Oscar González (El Salvador) each pitched a shutout. Guatemala's Luis Figueroa won the batting title, his .563 edging Costa Rica's Alfredo Zamora by .007.
