1979 Southern States Conference Tournament

The 1979 Southern States Conference baseball tournament was held May 3-5 at Striplin Field in Birmingham, AL. Rains forced the tournament to change format from double-elimination to single-elimination after the first day. South #1 William Carey College defeated North #1 Birmingham-Southern College for the title.

William Carey and Belhaven advanced to the District 30 tournament. Birmingham-Southern and Montevallo advanced to the District 27 tournament.
