History, Comments, Contributions[edit]
On June 15th, a scheduled evening game between the 1976 Houston Astros and the Pittsburgh Pirates was rained out at the indoor Astrodome. It was the first time in the ballpark's history that such an event occurred, and it was caused by unrelenting rain that fell on the city of Houston, TX that day. The ballpark itself was fine, but the streets were flooded and impassable, prompting General Manager Tal Smith to take the decision to re-schedule that night's game out of concern for the safety of stadium workers and fans.
