Zero's Slider

Zero's Slider is a book in the Peach Street Mudders series by Matt Christopher. Its topic is pitcher Zero Ford, who learns how to throw a slider after injuring his finger. His coach will not let him play while he is bandaged and Ford worries about whether he can still throw the slider once his finger heals. Additionally, the team may have to forfeit games if they cannot find a substitute when their coach will be away.
