Biographical Information[edit]

Zach Osborne played four years with the University of Tennessee Volunteers. He had allowed no earned runs in 13 innings in the 2002 Little League World Series, when his Louisville team won the title. The Colorado Rockies signed him in 2012 as a non-drafted free agent. Osborne played in the Rockies minor league system from 2012-2016 and reached as high as AA.

After his playing career ended, Osborne became a hitting coach in the Rockies system. He coached for the Grand Junction Rockies in 2018-2019. The Rockies promoted him to the Asheville Tourists in 2020, but the season was cancelled due to COVID-19. He was hitting coach of the Spokane Indians in 2021-2023. In 2022 Spokane’s offense led the Northwest League in batting (.261), hits (1,136), total bases (1,762) and stolen bases (214). After the 2023 season he coached the Salt River Rafters in the Arizona Fall League. Osborne moved up a level in 2024 as hitting coach for the Hartford Yard Goats and became the first Yard Goats player to return as a coach.
