Biographical Information[edit]
Yuta Omine has pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Omine's fastball was timed at 94 mph in high school. He was a first-round pick of the Chiba Lotte Marines in the 2006 NPB draft. He debuted with the big club on April 30, 2007 but allowed five runs on seven hits in four innings and spent the rest of the year in ni-gun. Omine was 2-2 with a 5.23 ERA for the 2008 Marines.
In 2009, Yuta posted a 5-6, 5.78 record and .308 opponent average in 16 starts. He was 3-6 with a 5.17 ERA in 2010 and allowed the first NPB homer to uberprospect Sho Nakata; he spent the second half of the season back in the minors.
Omine compliments his fastballwith a slider, curveball, changeup and forkball.
