Biographical Information[edit]

Yusuke Kosai played in the Nippon Pro Baseball for 9 years.

Kosai was drafted by the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks in the first round of the development phase in the 2005 NPB draft, and he made his NPB debut on June 2, 2006. He was the first NPB player to join the league as a development player. He didn't get many chances for the Hawks, and he only got 22 at-bats in his first two seasons with the big club. Kosai hit .267/.302/.396 in 39 games in 2008, and he had a .228/.286/.368 batting line in 2009. He only played a game in the next two seasons, and he was traded to the Rakuten Golden Eagles for cash. Kosai played 67 games combined for the Golden Eagles before he announced his retirement in 2015.

Overall, Kosai hit .209/.251/.326 with 66 hits and 7 homers in 9 seasons in the NPB.
