Biographical Information[edit]

Yuriey Shvets hit .176/.300/.176 for the Ukrainian national team in the 2005 European Championship and stole 3 bases in 3 tries, finishing 5th in the event in steals (tied) and leading his team. He bounced around, fielding .929 between 2B (where he played the most on the Ukraine, ahead of Olexiy Glukhiy), 3B (backing up Denys Ogapos), the outfield and pitching. On the hill, he allowed one unearned run in four innings of work. He was the primary left fielder for the Ukraine in the 2007 European Championship. He hit .167/.318/.167 in the event.
