Biographical Information

Yun Contreras debuted for the Peruvian national team in the 2022 Bolivarian Games. His first game, he pinch-hit for Jin Ishihara late in a loss to the title-bound Dominican Republic and struck out against Samuel Burgos. His first hit came in their second game against the Dominicans. Having replaced Ishihara at third base, he singled off Omarly Luna to break up a no-hitter in the fifth inning. He finished the Games 2-for-8 and handled six chances error-free at the hot corner, outperforming veteran Ishihara.
