Biographical Information[edit]

Yuki Okabayashi has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Okabayashi was drafted by the Chunichi Dragons in the 5th round of the 2019 NPB draft.[1] He debuted on July 19, 2020, and collected his first career hit off Yasunori Kikuchi. Okabayashi spent most of the 2020 season in the NPB Farm Leagues, only played 6 games in the major league. His .285 batting average was 3rd in the Western League. In the 2021 season, Okabayashi batted .254/.262/.322 in 62 at-bats. 2022 season was the career year for Okabayashi. He secured a starting outfielder spot of the Dragons, batting .291/.329/.373 with 10 triples and 24 stolen bases. He led the league with 161 hits (tied with Keita Sano) and 10 triples, ranked 2nd in steals (24, 6 behind Koji Chikamoto) and 10th in batting average. He won both the Best Nine and NPB Gold Glove Awards as an outfielder, became the first player born in the 21th century to win a batting award. [2]
