Biographical Information[edit]

Yuhei Nakaushiro pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball and for the Japanese national team.

Nakaushiro represented Japan in the 2009 Asian Championship and 2010 World University Championship. The Chiba Lotte Marines drafted him in the second round of the 2011 NPB draft. Nakaushiro pitched 20 games with a 4.87 ERA in his rookie year, but he only had 10 more appearances in the next two seasons. The Marines released him after the 2015 season. The Arizona Diamondbacks signed Nakaushiro in 2016. He pitched 13 games with a 2.51 ERA with A+ Visalia Rawhide, and recorded 10 2/3 shutout innings with the AAA Reno Aces. The Osaka native recorded a 2.35 ERA with AA Jackson Generals in 48 games in 2017, but his ERA rose to 5.29 in the next season. The Diamondbacks released him on June 23. The Yokohama Bay Stars picked him up. He had a 3.68 ERA in 8 games in 2018. Nakaushiro pitched 44 games with an elite 1.17 ERA in ni-gun, but only got 4 appearances with the big club in 2019. The BayStars released 30-year-old Nakaushiro after the 2019 season, and he announced his retirement.

Nakaushiro's repertoire included a fastball (peak 93.8 mph), curveball, slider, screwball and changeup.

Overall, Nakaushiro was 2-2, collected 7 holds with a 5.09 ERA and pitched 35 1/3 innings in 5 seasons in NPB.
