The Yuba-Sutter Gold Sox played in the independent Western Baseball League for one year, 2002. The league folded after the season but the Gold Sox played on as a summer collegiate team, joining the California Collegiate League from 2003-2004 and later the Great West League from 2016-2018. The Gold Sox folded following the 2022 season.
