The Youngstown Champs, a baseball club associated with the Ohio-Pennsylvania League, was organized in 1907. The team was established in response to the unexpected sale of the Youngstown Ohio Works to investors in Zanesville, OH. (Sources suggest that the Ohio Works' surprise departure resulted from a contract dispute involving the club's owners and manager.) The Champs were active for two seasons, ending their run in 1908.
