Biographical Information[edit]
Yoshiteru Suda pitched for Toshiba in the Japanese industrial leagues from 1993-2002. He was with the Japanese national team for the 2001 Baseball World Cup and went 1-1 with a 0.75 ERA and 16 whiffs in 12 innings. His win was a 7-inning shutout gem (Yuya Ando finished up) to beat Shane Tonkin and the Australian national team (which included major leaguers Glenn Williams and Trent Durrington). In the Bronze Medal game, he got the call against Taiwan and allowed only a fourth-inning Chin-Feng Chen homer before Yuya Kubo relieved in the 5th. He took the loss in a 3-0 game as Chih-Chia Chang was even better. Susa never played in the professional ranks. Suda later coached for his old high school.
