Yoshiro Tsumashima pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball for 9 years and won an ERA title.
Tsumashima was signed by the Daimai Orions in 1962, but he only pitched 7 games with the big club in his rookie year. He joined the bullpen of the Orions in 1963, and he had a 2.25 ERA in 27 appearances. The 1964 season was Tsumashima's career year. He was used as a swingman, and collected 6 wins in 56 appearances (14 starts) while winning his only Pacific League ERA title. He was still productive in 1965, having a 10-9 record in 57 games, but he only pitched 27 games with a 2.65 ERA in 1966. The Tokyo native slumped to 1-5 with a 3.89 ERA in 1967, and he was unable to bounce back as his ERA was 3.95 in 38 appearances in 1968. Tsumashima only pitched 8 more games for the Orions, then announced his retirement after the 1970 season.
Overall, Tsumashima was 29-32 with a 2.80 ERA, struck out 316 and pitched 685 2/3 innings in 9 years in the NPB.
