Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Yomelbin Almonte played in the Tampa Bay Rays minor league system from 2011-2013. After a year away from affiliated ball, he returned in 2015 in the Milwaukee Brewers organization. Overall, Almonte had a 1-8 record with 2 saves and an ERA of 4.89.
The Rays hired Almonte as an assistant pitching coach for their DSL Rays 2 team in 2021. He continued in the same role with DSL Tampa Bay in 2022-2023. Almonte was scheduled to return in 2024, but did not appear on the end of the season roster.
