Biographical Information[edit]
Yeris González has been on the Nicaraguan national team.
In the 2024 Caribbean Series, he allowed two runs in four innings for the Gigantes de Rivas, the first Nicaraguan League team in a Caribbean Series. He was with Nicaragua when they swept the 2026 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers to win a spot in the 2026 World Baseball Classic. He made one appearance, versus Spain. Relieving Angel Obando in the 9th with the bases loaded, one out and a 1-1 tie, he got a crucial double-play grounder from former major leaguer Engel Beltre. In the 10th, he struck out Wander Encarnación, then intentionally walked Jesús Ustariz to set a double play situation (with the starting runner on second base due to the extra inning rules). Facing pool RBI leader Rusber Estrada, he got a fly-out then retired Edison Valerio to end the inning. He got the win over Rhiner Cruz when Nicaragua scored in the bottom of the frame. [1]
