Biographical Information[edit]
Yeong-dong Yang played in the Korea Baseball Organization for 4 years.
Yang represented South Korea in the 2005 Asian Championship, and the Samsung Lions signed him in 2006. He was 0-for-2 in '06, and he stayed in the minors for the entire 2007 season. He then spent the next two seasons in military, and the Lions released him. The LG Twins picked him up, and Yang hit .157/.289/.186 in 51 games in 2011. He was used as pinch-runner and defensive replacement in 2012, and he only had 71 at-bats in 72 appearances. Yang collected 12 steals, and his batting line was .231/.286/.256. He went 9-for-39 in 2013, and the Twins released him after he stayed in the minors for the entire 2014 season. He was the baserunning coach of the Twins minor league team from 2015 to 2023.
Overall, Yang hit .189/.284/.228 with 34 hits in 4 seasons in the KBO.
