Biographical Information[edit]
The Seattle Mariners signed Yeison Perez as an undrafted free agent and he played in their minor league system from 2014-2015. He spent the next three years in the Minnesota Twins organization. He was promoted stateside in his final season after four years playing in the Dominican Summer League. Perez was a catcher who occasionally played first base. Over his five seasons, Perez batted .244/.315/.352 while appearing in 150 games.
Following his playing career, Perez joined the Twins player development staff. He reportedly coached in 2019, but no detail was available. In 2020 he was slated for a hitting coach role with the DSL Twins before the coronavirus pandemic caused the cancellation of the minor league season. Perez was a coach for the FCL Twins in 2021-2022 and hitting coach of the Cedar Rapids Kernels in 2023 and Wichita Wind Surge in 2024.
