Biographical Information[edit]
Yasmir García has played at times for the Nicaraguan national team. He appeared in the 2002 Central American and Caribbean Games. He was 1 for 2 in the 2003 Pan American Games. In the 2003 Baseball World Cup, he was 2 for 6 with a walk as a backup corner outfielder. At age 34, he went 1 for 6 in the 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games. As the Nicaraguan starting shortstop in the 2006 Americas Qualifier for the 2008 Olympics, the Pueblo Nuevo native hit .346/.370/.346. He played one game but did not bat in the 2007 Pan American Games.
