Biographical Information

Yandy Canto hit .277 and slugged .420 in 3 seasons for Villa Clara through 2007-2008. At age 24 in 2008-2009, he hit .245/.322/.354 and fielded .959, playing mostly third base. He improved his batting line to .289/.406/.518 in 2009-2010, fielding .960. In game 7 of the 2009-2010 finals, his 3-run homer off Brian Ruiz tied the score at 5, but Villa Clara lost in extra innings.
