Biographical Information[edit]

Yan Rivera was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 36th round of the 2014 Amateur Draft from Colegio Catolico Notre Dame, but opted to attend college instead. Rivera was an infielder at LaSalle University and graduated in 2018 with a degree in psychology. From LaSalle he moved to Springfield College and earned a master's degree in athletic counseling in 2021. While at Springfield Rivera worked as a graduate assistant coach with the 2020-2021 baseball teams.

The Cleveland Indians hired Rivera in 2021 as a coaching fellow. He then moved into a more typical coaching role as the bench coach for the Lake County Captains in 2022 and Lynchburg Hillcats in 2023. He became a manager with the ACL Guardians in 2024.

Yan Rivera is the son of long-time major league coach Luis Rivera.
