Yakima County Stadium

Yakima County Stadium in Yakima, WA, was the home of Yakima affiliated baseball from 1993 through 2012. After that, the Yakima Bears of the Northwest League moved into a new ballpark in the Portland, OR suburb of Hillsboro, as the Hillsboro Hops.

The club had spent several years calling for either major renovations or a new ballpark. After a near-deal for the latter fell apart in 2010, Bears management started scouring the league landscape for places willing to build one.

They thought they had a deal with another Portland suburb - Vancouver, WA - in 2011 until that, too, fell through. Before the next season, though, they nailed down Hillsboro.

Yakima County Stadium had the smallest capacity in the league and was seen as the reason the Bears were reportedly losing money. That move was not only a long time coming but something of a homecoming; nearby Salem, OR, was the original home of the franchise - then the Salem Senators.

It has a capacity of 2,654 people.
