Biographical Information[edit]
Submariner Xi-Kai Teoh pitched in the CPBL.
Teoh was Malaysian-Taiwanese, so his name was transliterated like Malaysian. He was drafted by the Lamigo Monkeys in the fifth round of the 2019 CPBL Draft, and he was 3-6 with a 4.95 ERA in the minor league in 2020. He won the ERA title there, and he was the first submariner to win an ERA title in the minors (Yu-Cheng Liao won one with the big club in 2008). Teoh then went 5-6 with a 5.04 ERA in 2021, but he faced serious control problems, so he didn't pitch any games with the big club in 2022. The TSG Hawks then selected him in the expansion draft, and Teoh had a 7.45 ERA in 9 2/3 innings in the minors in 2023.
Teoh's repertoire includes a fastball (peak 84.5 mph), sinker and slider.
