Biographical Information[edit]

The Baltimore Orioles drafted Wynston Sawyer in the 8th round of the 2010 Amateur Draft from Scripps Ranch High School and he played in the their minor league system through 2016. He spent the next year in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization and played in the Minnesota Twins minor league system in 2018-2019. Sawyer never received a promotion to the major leagues even though he spent some time in AAA in both 2018 & 2019. He hooked up with the New York Yankees in 2020, but never appeared in a game since the minor league season was cancelled due to COVID-19. In his 10 minor league seasons, Sawyer hit .248/.341/.369 while splitting time between catching and first base.

In 2023 the Atlanta Braves hired Sawyer as a coach for the FCL Braves. He became a manager with the Augusta GreenJackets in 2024.
