Won-seop Kim has been an outfielder in the Korea Baseball Organization.
Kim debuted in 2001 with the Doosan Bears, going 6 for 35 with a double and 5 walks in 38 games. He moved to the KIA Tigers in 2003 (a trade for Dong-soo Lee) and was 2 for 13 with a double and four walks. In 2004, Kim went 9 for 34 with 3 walks. The next year, he was just one for 25 with a walk.
Kim made a major leap forward in 2006 when he hit .337/~.385/.398 with 12 steals in 14 tries in 181 AB over 94 games. During 2007, the veteran outfielder batted .243/~.329/.332 as a regular. In 2008, he hit .305/.398/.369 to finish 14th in the Korea Baseball Organization in average and 9th in OBP. He stole 21 bases in 29 tries.
Kim hit .301/.401/.458 in 2009, taking over the leadoff role for KIA when Yong-kyu Lee was injured. Kim led the league with nine triples, scored 74 runs and stole 20 bases in 30 attempts. He tied Seong-hoon Jeong for 14th in the league in average and was 11th in OBP.
