Team Bio[edit]

The Winter Park Diamond Dawgs are a Summer Collegiate Baseball team playing in the Florida Collegiate Summer League, recognized by Baseball America as being one of the top Summer Collegiate leagues in the United States. The Diamond Dawgs, debuted in 2004 as one of the founding teams of the FCSL. The Dismond Dawgs, who play their home games in Winter Park, FL at Alfond Stadium at Harper-Shepherd Field on the campus of Rollins College, won their first FCSL championship in 2006.

Like every other Summer Collegiate Baseball organization, the Diamond Dawgs are dedicated and designed to provide minor league-style competition for NCAA players that wish to continue on into professional baseball. The Winter Park Diamond Dawgs operate in the model of a Minor League team: playing nightly before fans in stadiums which seat thousands, using wood bats and minor league specification equipment and experiencing road trips between games. The Diamond Dawgs actively recruit players, who are unpaid in order to maintain their NCAA eligibility, and live with host families in the same manner as Single A and Independent League players.
