Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Wilma Briggs played seven seasons in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League and was one of the circuit's top sluggers. She began her career with the Fort Wayne Daisies in 1948 and hit .228 as a rookie. In 1953, she led the league with 9 home runs. She hit 25 the next year with the South Bend Blue Sox. Overall, she hit .258 with 43 homers in 691 career games.
