Biographical Information[edit]
Willis Ordway was a minor league and semi-pro player in the early 20th century. He claimed to come from England, and to be a very good English cricketer before coming to America. In 1907, while playing for the San Jose Prune Pickers in the California State League he received notice that he had become Sir Henry Willis Campbell-Orde, and that he owned large estates of the Orde family in Argyll and the Auchinbreck holdings of that branch of the Campbell family. He seemed to have stopped playing baseball after that date. He died in San Diego, CA in 1972.
