William Ruggles was a sportswriter and editor for the Dallas Morning News. He was statistician of the Texas League from 1920-1964 and wrote several books on the TL's history. He conducted a lot of research on the TL's early years. In 2004, he was an inaugural inductee of the Texas League Hall of Fame.
