Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Will Dithridge played in the minor leagues from 1905 to 1910. He began his professional career, later than most, at age 32. In his second campaign, with the Cairo Giants, he hit .329 with 155 hits and 36 doubles in 126 games to lead the Kentucky-Illinois-Tennessee League in batting average. Per records available, that was the peak of his offensive achievement–he never hit better than .266 again.

He managed the Danville Speakers/Staunton club to a 65-27 first place finish in 1908. He led the Galesburg Boosters to a 47-83 record in 1909 and is also listed as the fourth of four managers for the Pekin Celestials that year, replacing Spider Diehl. In 1910, he was the second of two skippers for the Celestials, replacing William Hickey; the club finished in first place with a 66-47 record.

His middle initial has also been listed as C.
