Biographical Information[edit]
Wilfredo Echavarría played for the Dominican national team and in the minor leagues.
He was on the Bronze Medal-winning Dominican squad in the 1954 Central American and Caribbean Games and won Gold with them in the 1955 Pan American Games (he had a 6.23 ERA), the only Dominican Gold in a Pan American Games (through 2022). [1] Signing with the Milwaukee Braves, he was 7-9 with a 3.80 ERA for the 1958 Wellsville Braves and 1-3 in '59. He was 0-2 with a 6.23 ERA for the Davenport Braves in 1961 to end his career in the minors.
