Biographical Information[edit]
Wilfred Rhinelander was a player and sportswriter.
When a MLB team led by George Kelly visited Hawaii in 1932, Rhinelander was lent to the MLB team, forming a middle infield combo with SS Augie Galan. [1] He was on the Hawai'ian national team in the 1940 Amateur World Series, their only international event before becoming a state; they outperformed Mexico and Puerto Rico and tied Venezuela. [2] He was also a long-time sportswriter for the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and a baseball promoter. [3]
