Wilbur "Wib" Smith played for the St. Louis Browns in 1909, appearing in 17 games.
Smith was born in Evart, MI, in north-central Michigan. From 1905 to 1909, he was at Albion College in Albion, MI, in south-central Michigan. Through 2009, he is the only major league player out of that institution.
He made his major league debut on May 31, 1909, having previously played some minor league ball at Pueblo in 1907 and 1908. He was with Minneapolis from 1910 to 1914.
In the 1920s he managed at Watertown and Jamestown.
