Biographical Information[edit]
Whitey Hilcher pitched four seasons in the major leagues for the Cincinnati Reds. He was at the University of Alabama at the same time as Fred Sington, and started in the minors in 1930. He pitched in the minors through 1942, before entering the military in December 1942. He served in Europe during World War II (BN) and played baseball there as well. After his baseball days he was a partner in a plastering firm in Minneapolis. One main source: Whitey Hilcher.
