Biographical Information[edit]

Starting pitcher Wes Parsons began his professional career in 2013 after being signed as an undrafted free agent by the Atlanta Braves on July 30, 2012.

With the Rome Braves in 2013, he went 7-7 with a 2.63 ERA in 19 starts, walking only 21 batters in 109 2/3 innings. In 2014, he was 4-7 with a 5.02 ERA in 23 starts for the Lynchburg Hillcats.

He was briefly called up to the majors on June 28, 2018, but was sent back down the following day without having taken part in a game when Ronald Acuna was activated from the disabled list. He did make his debut on August 9th.

After being out of the majors since the end of the 2019 season, he was activated by the Toronto Blue Jays to start the final game of the 2023 season on October 1st after spending the season with their AAA affiliate, the Buffalo Bisons. The Jays had clinched a postseason slot the night before and did not want to use one of their frontline starters in a now meaningless game against the Tampa Bay Rays. He had gone 9-4, 4.52 in 17 AAA starts. In the interim, he had pitched for the NC Dinos of the Korea Baseball Organization in 2021 and 2022. He had a simple mission, to pitch as long as possible in order to spare the bullpen as much as possible, but things did not go as planned as the Rays scored once in the 1st, seven times in the 2nd, with a grand slam by Jonathan Aranda the big blow, and once more in the 4th. He then made the Blue Jays' Opening Day roster in 2024 as a long reliever, the result of injuries to some other members of the bullpen.
