Biographical Information[edit]

Slugging outfielder Wes Gibson played in the minor leagues from 1950 to 1953. In 1950, he hit .301 with 24 home runs for the Chickasha Chiefs, and in 1951, he hit .321 with 21 home runs and 16 triples between the Shawnee Hawks and Gainesville Owls. He had a career year in 1952, batting .373 with 22 home runs, at least 88 RBI and a .666 slugging percentage in 85 games between the Longview Cherokees and Dallas Eagles. In his final season, he slipped to around 5 home runs between Dallas and the Greeneville/Bryan Majors. Overall, he slugged at least 72 home runs in four seasons.

He served in the U.S. Army from July 1946 to December 1947.
