Wen-Hui Pan has pitched in the minors and for the Taiwanese national team.
Pan represented Taiwan in the 2019 U-18 Baseball World Cup. He relieved Chih-Chieh Chen, pitching 1 1/3 innings with 2 strikeouts against the USA. Pan then relieved Yu-Min Lin against the Spain, allowed 2 runs in a inning. He then saves Po-Yu Chen's win over the South Korea with 3 innings and 2 strikeouts [1] He also represented Taiwan in the 2021 U-23 Baseball World Cup.
The Philadelphia Phillies signed Pan with a $400,000 signing bonus on January 13, 2023; the scout was Chin-Yong Wang. He made his professional debut on April 16, 2023 for the Clearwater Threshers. The young righty pitched 2 shutout innings and struck out 3 against the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels. Pan ended up 4-1 with a 2.81 ERA, and struck out 81 in 27 relief outings before he was prompted to the A+ Jersey Shore BlueClaws. He struggled there as he gave up 10 runs in 6 innings.
Pan then made it onto Taiwan's 24-man roster for the 2022 Asian Games.[2] He only faced one batter - Tsun-Wai Yung of Hong Kong and struck him out. Taiwan won Silver in that event. [3]
