Biographical Information[edit]

Wei Lin played in the CPBL for 3 years. His cousin Ko-Chien Lin also pitched in the CPBL.

Lin was drafted by the Uni-President Lions in the 4th round of the 2008 CPBL Draft, and he hit .290/.388/.347 in the minor league in 2009 while leading the league with 29 walks. He hit .244/.287/.244 in 2010, and he was 0-for-2 with the big club. Lin then improved to .313/.392/.391 in 2011, and he was 2-for-5. As the Lions already had All-Star catcher Chih-Kang Kao, Lin didn't get many chances with the big club. He was 0-for-4 in 2012, and he never played another game for the major league until he announced his retirement in 2014. He was a trainer for the Lions from 2015 to 2019, and he became the catcher coach of the Lions minor team in 2021.

Overall, Lin hit .182/.167/.364 with 2 hits in 3 seasons in the CPBL.
