Wayne Weatherly was a top college outfielder of the 1960s.
Weatherly was named to the All-Tournament team in the 1966 College World Series and 1968 College World Series. The latter year, he also was All-Big Eight Conference. He hit .382 with 10 RBI in ten games in his College World Series career. He was later named to the College World Series All-Decade team for the 1960s.
Undrafted, Wayne signed with the Chicago White Sox. He went 8 for 62 (all singles) with one walk and one steal for the Lynchburg White Sox in 21 games in 1968. In 1969, he hit .232/.325/.261 with the Appleton Foxes to end his pro career. In 1998, he was inducted into Oklahoma State's Baseball Hall of Fame.
