Biographical Information[edit]

Wayne Tyrone hit one career home run, August 3, 1976, off Jim Kaat of the Philadelphia Phillies. He started the game in left field for the Chicago Cubs and went 1 for 3.

He had no career errors in 17 career games - 7 in the outfield, 5 at first base and 5 at third base.

He is the brother of Jim Tyrone; in the 1979 edition of the Macmillan Baseball Encyclopedia, his playing record is missing, confounded with that of his brother: Wayne only played in 1976, while Jim played in 1972, 1974, 1975 and 1977, but not in 1976. Both brothers played for the Cubs, adding another layer of potential confusion.
