Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Wayne Cato played parts of five seasons in the San Francisco Giants organization. He began his pro career with the Great Falls Giants in 1975, hitting .372 to earn a spot on the Pioneer League All-Star team. The following year, he hit .308 with 8 home runs and 63 RBI for the Cedar Rapids Giants and was MVP of the Midwest League. He peaked at the AA level with the Waterbury Giants in 1978.
Following his playing days, Cato managed three seasons in the Giants chain.
