Biographical Information[edit]

Warren Bachmann led the league in several offensive categories in his one season playing professional baseball.

Bachmann was picked by the Atlanta Braves in the 32nd round of the 1983 amateur draft, the first player ever drafted from Armstrong Atlantic State University. Assigned to the GCL Braves, he hit .296/.434/.446 with 51 walks and 47 RBI in 60 games. He fielded .995 at first base and only struck out 22 times. He led the Gulf Coast League in walks, RBI and games played (tied with four others in the latter). He also was 9th in batting average and led GCL first basemen in fielding percentage and assists (29, tied). Despite that, he never played pro ball again.
