Biographical Information[edit]
Waner Santana has played and coached in the minors. Santana hit .245/.368/.325 with 26 walks and 30 runs in 47 games for the 2000 AZL Giants, but fielded only .885 as a utility infielder. He was 8 for 24 for the 2001 San Jose Giants, with one double, one triple and one home run. Back with the AZL Giants in 2002, Waner batted .253/.328/.352 with 36 runs in 47 games, fielding over .900 at all four infield slots this time.
In 2010, Santana was the strength and conditioning coach for the DSL Phillies. He became a manager with the DSL Phillies Red in 2017-2019 and 2021. He moved to a coach role with the DSL Phillies Red in 2022-2023, then managed the DSL Phillies White in 2024.
