Biographical information[edit]
Walter Snider was a minor league first baseman and pitcher. He later managed the Augusta Tigers for part of the 1952 season.
Snider played from 1942 to 1943, from 1946 to 1949 and from 1951 to 1952. He played in 577 games in his eight-year career, hitting a high of 14 home runs for the Miami Owls in 1947. He pitched in 1949 and from 1951 to 1952.
He managed the Tigers for part of the 1952 season, replacing Burl Storie and being replaced by Charlie Marshall.
He served during World War II.
